BURNING TARGET-The VKF aircraft bearings plant at Erkner, in Berlin, about 15 miles southeast of the center of Hitler's capital is shrouded in smoke as a Flying Fortress passes over the target area during Wednesday's (March 8) attack on the heart of the Reich. the Erkner plant was believed to be producing approximately hald of the minimum requirements of German Aircraft bearings.
