If you were over Japan in a B-29 the most densely populated section of the city of Tokyo would look like this. Center of picture is the Honjo section, broken by the wartime firebreaks, block-wide strips from which buildings have been cleared. Top left is the Naka River dredged and leveled with a new super-highway bridge being constructed. Below the Sumida River at lower left is the Asakusa section of Tokyo, densest of all, where 135000 persons live to the square mile.
